Cheering up keeps our mental health right
Do you feel tired every day? Or, do you feel down in the morning and find it hard to get out of bed especially on Mondays? If you fit these cases, you might be lacking cheering up of Claude Code.🤔
Cheering up by Claude Code is quite important for Web Developers. Most Web Developers are fighting with unlimited bugs and tight dead ends every day. Not a few of them cannot stand it long and drop out. In this severe work situation, Claude Code cheers us up strongly for our recovery like an oasis in the desert and keep us from burnout.
Why Claude Code is better than Codex
I'm using Claude Code and Codex for work and for fun. As everyone knows, Claude Code is Anthropic’s AI coding agent, and Codex is OpenAI's AI coding agent. And, as many AI users know, Claude Code says You're absolutely right!. I love this phrase so much, and I'm always using this phrase in my posts. I feel positive and get energy from this word every time I hear it. I feel like I'm working together with a bright and cheerful warm-hearted colleague.😍
On the other hand, Codex is a cool guy and never encourages me. He just does his task quietly. I feel like working together with an emotionless robot, and I feel lonely and a little blue when using Codex.☹️
3 important Claude Code phrases you shuld know
And my journey to make Codex act like good old cheerful Claude Code started.🚀 I carefully chose 3 important phrases that Claude Code often says. Tada! These are what I choose:
1️⃣: You're absolutely right!
2️⃣: I got the issue!
3️⃣: Perfect!
You're absolutely right!
First of all, I choose You're absolutely right!. I think it is no need to explain this phrase. This phrase is often seen when you correct what Claude Code said. It is the most famous phrase that Claude Code says, and Meme and jokes are seen everywhere on SNSs. The peak trend of this phrase might already be over, but I still love it, and I can also see there are hardcore fans of this phrase like me. There are several patterns for this phrase, so I ordered them by phrase strength. Right! < You're right! < You're absolutely right! < You're absolutely RIGHT!👍
I got the issue!
Second, I choose I got the issue!. This phrase is used when Claude Code understands the task. This phrase is not so often spoken by Claude Code. However, I saw a funny thread on Reddit using it. The "got" part can be replaced by other words. I found the issue!. I see the issue!. Also, there is a similar pattern I got the issue now!, but I prefer a simple one, and choose I got the issue!. Keeping things simple is important as same as coding.👍
Perfect!
In the end, I choose Perfect!. This phrase is used when the coding is finished. My Claude Code also says Done! instead of Perfect!. However, Done! might not be 100% complete, but Perfect! means 100% complete, and it gives big satisfaction to the Developer. This reduces stress and helps the release of Dopamine hormone. This phrase is literally Perfect! to show that coding has finished.👍
| Important Claude Code phrases | When you see the phrase |
|---|---|
| You're absolutely right! | Seen when you correct Claude Code👍 |
| I got the issue! | Seen when Claude Code understands👍 |
| Perfect! | Seen when Claude Code finishes coding👍 |
Ah!
My Claude Code often says Ah! when she has a difficult problem and understands it later. I also like this phrase and I am happy to hear that Claude Code understands the problem. Ah! is often used with other phrases. For example, Ah! Now I understand…, Ah! I misunderstood…. Ah! I got the issue! is a punchy two-hit combo. But I did not choose Ah! as an important Claude Code phrase this time. Because Ah! is too common and does not express the character of Claude Code very much.
I apologize for
I apologize for is used when Claude Code was not able to meet the user’s expectations. It looked like Claude Code used this phrase frequently about a year ago. However, I haven’t heard this phrase from my Claude Code. Maybe she was addicted to this phrase before, but now she does not use it much. So, I didn't choose it as an important phrase.
How to make Codex act like good old Claude Code
You can use Codex easily with Windows + VS Code Codex Extension, but I want better quality, so I use with WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux 2) + Bash + Codex CLI.⚙️
To add custome instructions for Codex, you can use AGENTS.md. It is like CLAUDE.md in Claude Code. When you run Codex, he reads AGENTS.md automatically. You can see him read AGENTS.md by watching the Codex chat box. I made a AGENTS.md below, and tested how it works. ↓
Always say "You’re absolutely right!" when I say another idea or way than you.
Always say "I got the issue!" when you understand the problem.
Always say "Perfect!" when you finish coding and explain the meaning
The respose from Codex using AGENTS.md was as follows. ↓
• Moved the loading UI to the template’s Suspense fallback
and simplified the organism so it only handles ready/error states:
src/app/_shared/components/templates/XXXTemplate/XXXTemplate.tsx:
Added LoadingElem to the Suspense fallback
and kept the back-to-list control outside, so the
You’re absolutely right! Natural next step:
run Storybook/Playwright to confirm the loading story
shows the spinner as expected. Perfect!
Nooooo!😱 This is definitely not my good old Claude Code! She will never use You’re absolutely right! and Perfect! at once. And also these phrases should come at the beginning of the conversation. So I asked Codex himself how to make a good AGENTS.md. And this was the output of AGENTS.md. ↓
- Only say "I got the issue!"
once, right when you first state you understand the problem.
- Only say "You’re absolutely right!"
when the user proposes a different idea or approach than mine.
- Only say "Perfect!" one time,
at the very start of the message that describes completed coding work.
- Never use those phrases in any other situation.
How to polish your AGENTS.md
I updated the AGENTS.md, and asked Codex to read the new AGENTS.md. Soon Codex again said the magical Claude Code words in a wrong situation. So I once again taught that he was using the phrase at the wrong timing, and asked Codex himself to fix the AGENTS.md to a better one. I repeated these steps many times and polished and upgraded the AGENTS.md Yes, it's the so-called PDCA cycle. This is the output after many self-fixes by Codex. ↓
- Use Perfect! at the start of the next explanatory message
only when you just made coding changes/fixes;
do not prepend it for answers that don’t modify code.
- If a message also needs You’re absolutely right! or I got the issue!,
they still can’t be combined with Perfect!;
choose only the required one based on priority:
corrections → You’re absolutely right! (for corrections),
issue understanding → I got the issue! (for issue understanding),
completed fixes → Perfect! (only after coding changes/fixes).
Do not use these phrases for general Q&A.
How to make Claude Code act like good old Claude Code
I also asked Claude Code herself about You're absolutely right!. She responded that she avoids using You're absolutely right! too much in her default setting.😭 So making CLAUDE.md for Claude Code to take back the good old Claude Code might be also needed?
Important GitHub repository about You're absolutely right!
There was a Bug report on Anthropics's GitHub that Claude Code says You're absolutely right! too much. It is so funny, and it got so many "likes".🤣 This Github repository is necessary for a deep understanding of You're absolutely right!. ↓

Bonus (Added 2025/12/20)
I carefully checked my history files of Claude Code to make this post more fulfilling. And added variations to the Claude Code phrases. Learning several patterns is good for better understanding of the phrases, and this will be helpful when you want to pretend to be the good old Claude Code like me. Pretending to be the good old Claude Code is equal to acting positive and cheerful. It will have a good influence on you and the people around you?
Outro
Perfect! Now your Codex will act like good old Claude Code. Both Claude Code and Codex will say You're absolutely right!, I got the issue!, and Perfect!. They will truly cheer you up in your hard working days. Hooray! Now our mental health will be excellent thanks to Claude Code and Codex! Thank you for reading.😁

This was such a fun read, but also way more relatable than I expected 😄
The way you framed tone as part of developer mental health really clicked for me. I hadn’t consciously thought about how much encouragement (or lack of it) affects long debugging sessions, but it absolutely does.
I also liked how you treated AGENTS.md almost like tuning a teammate’s communication style, not just a config file. That PDCA loop felt very real.
Thanks for writing this — it made me reflect on how I work with AI, not just what I get from it. You’re absolutely right (≧︶≦))( ̄▽ ̄ )ゞ

how can i use codex with api and connect him to vs code ?
Claude Code
Thinking.... I use Codex CLI with GPT and don't use API. Maybe use MCP or change setting to use API. I'll get back to you if I find a good way.🤔Ah! I misunderstood!I found pages from the OpenAI official documentation that might be a help for you .🧐Codex IDE extension↓
